Short Bio

Peter studied law, completing a B.Com. and an LLB at Wits. After that he was called into Christian ministry and completed a B.Th. at Kwa-Zulu Natal and MTh at Stellenbosch and then a Doctorate in Ministry at Columbia Seminary in the USA. He is married to Sally and they have four daughters. Peter has served as a minister in the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa for the last twenty-five years. He served as Moderator of the General Assembly as well as Chair of the Church Unity Commission. With his combination of an advanced qualification in law and a doctorate in theology, Peter is uniquely placed to mediate in commercial transactions, business transactions, employment issues, complex legal matters, community peace-making initiatives and within religious environments. Peter completed his training as a mediator through the University of Cape Town and, following that, is passionate about the process of facilitative mediation to find mutually-acceptable, win-win type solutions in many different areas of conflict. Peter is an international accredited mediator with MiM (Mediation in Motion) where, together with many other able and qualified mediators, he is committed to find creative and innovative solutions to disputed issues
