Short Bio

Tinus started his career in the military as an Artillery Officer in the Regular Force from 1996 until 2008, holding various positions involving training and facilitation as well as operational. He has held positions as area manager for a management and security consultancy firm as well as site manager at a warehousing company. Tinus is registered with the Private Security Industry Regulating Authority (PSIRA). He is experienced in labour relations, strategic planning and management, budgeting and procurement, facility management and human resources. Tinus is still active in the SANDF Reserves as a Unit Commander and he was deployed as Commander for Operation Corona: Border Safeguarding Free State/Lesotho border in 2015/2016, where he worked extensively with different state departments (SAPS, Veterinary Services, Home Affairs, Customs and Traffic Department), community organisations and other stakeholders to resolve complex issues regularly between stakeholders. Tinus successfully completed the UCT/MiM mediation training in 2016, he also completed his Advanced Labour Law Programme at UNISA, Centre for Business Law and is a qualified Family and Divorce Mediator
