ABOUT US

Mediation in Motion Training is a mediation training company that was created by Adv Alan Nelson SC and his son Daniel I Nelson in 2012.

Alan practiced as an advocate for 40 years and was by his own admission an aggressive trial lawyer. He has acted as a Judge of Cape High Court. After undergoing extensive mediation training both locally and abroad at the Institute for Peace and Dialogue in Switzerland, he has over the past 13 years mediated a vast number of disputes in many different conflict situations including multi-party disputes.

MiM Training Pty Ltd was created to teach people a facilitative mediation method with low-cost, high-value solutions to resolve conflict situations. Addressing parties dignity violations and restoring relationships wherever possible.

MiM mediation training courses accords with international best standards and takes place over a five-day period. To our knowledge it is the only mediation training course of it’s kind that is accredited by a university in South Africa.

We primarily present the in-person mediation training courses at the Nelson Peace Centre, situated at Nelson Wine Estate, just outside Paarl in the Western Cape.

Our online mediation training courses are presented via Zoom live and in real time.

We have a panel of mediation trainers with international qualifications and training that we make use of to present our mediation training courses.

Mediation in Motion Training has been presenting accredited mediation training courses under the auspices of the University of Cape Town (UCT) since 2014.

Our mediation training courses are designed to equip delegates to mediate or act as mediation advocates in almost every kind of dispute that they are likely to encounter. The training also includes the amendments to the High and Lower Court Rules pertaining to mediation.

Our mediation training course groups are limited in size to ensure that each attendee receives individual and personalized mediation training from skilled trainers and coaches.
