Louis Mullinder is a former diplomat who has seen service in Germany (1981-1995), the United Kingdom (1987-1921) and the Russian Federation (1992-1997) where he served as Consul-General in St Petersburg. His last diplomatic portfolio (1997) was the protocol appointment of Head of State Visits and he was instrumental in organising all visits of the then President and Deputy President abroad, as well as receiving all Heads of State and Government to South Africa. Since 2009, he holds the legal position of the Registrar / CEO of the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa which regulates eleven complementary medicine professions: Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Osteopathy, Phytotherapy, Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Reflexology and Unani-Tibb. He holds a B Proc (Wits)(1978), is a qualified Homeopath (M Tech (Homeopathy) (UJ), completed with distinction in 2003 for all final-year subjects and his dissertation. He is currently completing an M Phil (Medical Law and Ethics) at the University of Pretoria. He has also completed courses in Cyber Law (UJ), in Child Rights and Child Law for Health and Allied Professionals (UCT) and in Corporate Governance (UNISA).
