Short Bio

I am an admitted Attorney of the High Court, Deputy Master in the Office of the Master of the High Court, Law Lecturer at Justice College. I am a qualified and registered Assessor with ETDP, a qualified Outcomes-based Education and Assessment Material Developer. I graduated with a B.Proc degree from the University of South Africa (1994); LLB degree from the University of Pretoria (2003); LLM degree in Insolvency Law from the University of Pretoria (2006) and an LLM degree in Estates from the University of Pretoria (2015). After serving my articles, I joined the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development [DoJ&CD] as a Registrar of the High Court, where I worked myself up from Senior Administration Officer until to the Office of the Master of the High Court, where I served as Deputy Master. In 2005 I was recruited to lecture at the Justice College where I currently hold the position of Deputy Master and Law Lecturer. I have acquired experience in the functional fields of and services provided by the Master of the High Court and I have a well-rounded knowledge and experience in the Master’s environment. As a drafter of Master’s Training Material, notes, assessments and submissions, I have gained insight and understanding of the various statutes applicable in the Master’s Office, namely, Administration of Estate Act, Mental Health Care Act, Insolvency Act, Companies Act, Close Corporations Act, Trust Property Control Act, Guardians Fund Act, Promotion of Just Administrative Acts, Promotion of Access to Information Act and other related legislation. I have the ability to train on the functional work of the Master’s Office. I am involved in community outreach interventions where I educate members of my community on Estate Planning and Family Law related matters. I am also a qualified Christian Lay-Counsellor with the Christian Guidance and Counselling Forum since 2012. In March 2018 I successfully completed training as Mediator through the MiM/UCT Medic
