Prof Francis Lewu holds a BSc Degree in Plant Breeding and Seed Technology with a PhD in Plant Genetic Conservation. Francis started his career as an Assistant Genebank curator in the Headquarters of International Institute of Tropical Agriculture responsible for the conservation and exchange of genetic materials across the world. As a Research Assistant at IITA, he worked with people of different culture and race across the world; and managed conflicts among general staff under his supervision. In SA, Francis has worked as Academic and HOD: Agriculture at University of Zululand and currently Professor and HOD: Agriculture at Cape Peninsula University of Technology with practical experience of conflict management among staff and Staff-Management conflicts in both institutions. He is a COUT trained member and serves as chairperson of disciplinary committees at his institution. Francis’ research works takes him across the world and he has a good grasp of people’s cultural difference with an excellent listening skill. Francis has a 17-year cumulative experience in managing conflicts at work place and has completed UCT/MiM Commercial Mediation Course at the University of Cape Town during May 2019.
