Short Bio

He has been practicing Law since 1981 He qualified as a Mediator in 1991 and has been practicing as such since then. He had on occasion made oral representations to the HOEXTER Commission during the time it held session at Cape Town in 1996, regarding the significance of Mediation in the South African legal system, suggesting a compulsory mediation process as a prerequisite to proceed with any litigation process. Subsequent thereto, he made similar representations to the South African Law Commission on law reform, submitting various suggested structures by which Mediation, together with other Alternative Dispute Resolution structures, could become an integrated part of our legal system. He also had occasion to discuss his representations with the office of the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development during 1999 / 2000, suggesting a system similar to the Court Based Mediation system which is now being established nationwide as a pilot project. He specialises in Commercial Law and Family Law and has accreditation with various regulatory bodies in his field of expertise. He is also a Director of Companies.
