The Nelson Peace Center (NPC) is nestled in one of the most beautiful places on earth! Exuding peace and tranquility in a mountainous setting it lies in the heart of South Africa’s Winelands, less than twenty five minutes by car from Cape Town International Airport.

    NPC is the only training facility in South Africa where MiM, in collaboration with the University of Cape Town, trains mediators to specialise in diverse areas of practice such as commerce, health, construction, engineering, family and business disputes. A range of other peace related training courses are also offered at NPC including leadership; negotiation; communication; safety and disaster management.

    There is no better place in Africa to train or for the peaceful resolution of both large and small disputes irrespective of whether they are between individuals or the largest of corporations; groups; government entities and even countries.

  • History

    NPC was the creation of Advocate Alan Nelson SC, one of MiM’s founders. It is built in the foothills of the Paarl Mountain on the Nelson Wine Estate, one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa. Amongst hundreds of accolades, The Nelson Wine Estate, has in the last decade twice been adjudged the ‘Best Wine Producer in the Boland Region’ (South Africa’s premium wine growing area) and was the First South African Wine Estate to receive an International Award as South Africa’s ‘Best Business Tourism Destination’.
